"Can I eat sweets and still lose weight?”
Share
Losing weight doesn’t have to mean depriving yourself of the things you love. With the right habits and a little discipline, you can indulge in good chocolate while seeing real results. Let me show you the simple practices I use to stay on track and stay satisfied.
With our Strictly Good Date Chocolate (a pure dark chocolate sweetened with chunks of California grown Medjool dates) you can enjoy a delicious treat without guilt. This chocolate has the lowest calorie count in our product line, and dates provide a natural source of dietary fiber. It helps me stay fit and curbs my sweet cravings.
But for successful weight management, I stick to a few key practices:
1. Skip snacking on sweets
Instead, I follow this eating order: fiber first (like greens), then protein (lentils, fish, meat), and finally carbs (bread, pasta, rice, and sweets). This sequence helps prevent glucose spikes, hunger, and extra calorie intake that lead to weight gain. (Avoid fruit juices, too, since their fiber content is broken down, which can lead to high blood glucose spikes rather than the steadier energy release whole fruits provide).
2. Eat dinner early
To allow my body a 15-hour fasting window before breakfast, I eat dinner as early as possible. After about 12 hours of fasting, the body starts burning fat—a key factor in weight loss!
If your doctor approves, try these tips for three weeks, and you’ll be surprised at the results. Remember, though: discipline and honesty about your “cheats” are essential to achieving your goals.
Stay tuned for my next post, where I’ll share how a lazy person like me sticks to discipline—with simple life-hacks.
